the yogi life
I’ve been doing yoga since 2019. There are a ton of benefits to yoga, and I’ve recently started signing up for yoga classes again. Previously I was doing it off of Youtube and constructing my own yoga routine that I do every day. Yoga’s really calming and keeps me grounded in my body and well as tones the body and stretches the muscles. I highly recommend yoga to anyone wanting to relieve stress and be more grounded in their bodies. It helps with anxiety as well as reduces stress and increases breathwork.
Some favorite places that I've visited in NYC for yoga include Yoga to the People and Humming Puppy. The best thing about Yoga to the People is that it's donation based. There are bunch of people who go to Yoga to the People but they always have space for everyone and they go through a variety of poses that's both calming and energizing.
People have been recommending Humming Puppy to me for ages. It has a very aesthetic, calming and beautiful interior that looks like a spa, and the space is very clean and calming and offers plenty of good vibes. They offer a variety of different classes for yogis of all levels. This place elevates yoga to a restorative and rejuvenating experience, from the temperature-controlled room and the meditative hum that vibrates through your body as you go through the yoga poses. The reason I like Classpass is for the experiences that I can get from going to classes throughout the city, which is freedom from life in the apartment and the daily grind. I'd rather pay for experiences (and food) than for materialistic things, and yoga is one of the experiences that is a true luxury.
